The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Colin Boyce.
Voters in the Queensland seat of Callide are deciding who will represent them after Colin Boyce resigned to contest the federal seat of Flynn - a race he won.
Since it was created, it has always been held by the Country Party/Nationals & its successor, the LNP, with the exception of Lindsay Hartwig who defected from the Nationals to become an independent.
At the 2020 state election, Boyce easily won in a contest between himself, Labor, The Greens and two independents.
For this election, The Greens aren't running a candidate - however Legalise Cannabis, Animal Justice, Katter's Australian Party & One Nation are.
