Liberal MP Bridget Archer responds to viral image of her with Josh Frydenberg

The Member for Bass today crossed the floor to support an independent bill for a federal integrity commission.

Liberal MP Bridget Archer has responded to a viral image of her with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg today, taken in the House of Representatives.

"Thank you to my very good friend Josh Frydenberg who was checking on my welfare here," Ms Archer wrote on Twitter.

"Reports that he was lecturing me are in no way true. He is a good person and was being very kind to me."

Some on social media have labelled the Treasurer a "bully" & claimed he brought the Member for Bass to tears.

The photo was also shared by several Labor MPs, including Julian Hill - who tweeted that Frydenberg was "(standing) over her for daring to support a debate on a National Anti-Corruption Commission."

Today, Ms. Archer crossed the floor to support an independent bill for a federal integrity commission, in what she said was a "difficult decision" but "the time has gone on long enough."

"I don’t take this decision lightly at all. I take this decision very seriously to stand here," she told Parliament.
