The interview was making headlines days before it even aired.
As Australia edges closer to election day, the Prime Minister has faced a grilling over whether he stands by his claim that he has never told a lie in public office.
In an exclusive interview with 6 News' Leonardo Puglisi & Roman Mackinnon, Scott Morrison defended his credibility & claimed that he was taken out of context by ‘the media.’
The PM also admitted to calling former Labor senator Sam Dastyari ‘Shanghai Sam’ despite denials in the past.
"As politicians, occasionally you might get the odd fact wrong or figure wrong or be taken out of context, that’s all just silly word games. What Australians care about is their jobs, national security, they’re not interested in these types of juvenile debates," Morrison said.
When Crikey was acknowledged as a source for some of the PM's falsehoods, he interrupted & said that "if you're starting with Crikey, and you're talking about credibility, it's not a good start."
The PM interrupted again just moments later when the ABC was named as another source.
6 News has repeatedly independently fact-checked claims from Mr Morrison.
