AEC responds to images of unauthorised posters featuring 'teal independents' & The Greens logo

Allegations of independent candidates being a 'front' for Labor & the Greens have spread throughout the campaign.

The Australian Electoral Commission has responded after multiple images of unauthorised posters featuring 'teal independents' & the logo of The Greens emerged online.

Dr Sophie Scamps & Georgia Steele are candidates for the seats of Mackellar & Hughes respectively, while Zali Steggall is the current member for Warringah.

All 3 have the support of Climate 200, and have faced allegations that they're "fake independents" and a front for Labor & the Greens.

The images emerged online today, with Steele sharing one of them on social media.

The posters appear to be edited versions of real posters, with the authorisation on the original covered up.

The AEC says they're "taking this extremely seriously" and have asked for anyone with information on the posters to come forward.
